Attempting to explain life as an Art Major, to a Science Major...is like trying to talk to a fucking monkey.
No offense. I’m just trying to explain my situation right at this moment. I’m an Art major. My brother in-law was a Science major. He has a degree and has a good job at a Biotech company. That’s cool. But, we were discussing how ever since I started working 2 jobs while going to school, I started sleep walking (3 years ago)…and now I suffer from something called “sleep paralysis”. And he tried to tell me that it would be easy to fix that problem, “Just manage your sleep…go to sleep by midnight. If you’re not in bed by midnight, that’s your fault!”….If it were that fucking easy, I WOULD be asleep by midnight, jackass! I work 7:30am-4pm, do a little homework in between, or maybe take a 30 min nap, and then go to class from 6pm-9:30pm. Then I get home at about 10pm. So when I get home from class….I DO MY HOMEWORK. Because that is the only time I’ll have to do it. And I probably won’t get done til like 3am or 4am. My homework requires lots of creativity, always changing things, lots of thought, and being aware of perception. I mean, in graphic design, you have to capture everyone elses eyes. It’s not like math, and science. Math and Science are based on factual things. It may be time consuming, but there is an end to a math problem, and you can figure out what how chemicals interact and combine in Chem. Most of that shit is written. There are laws and fomulas. In Art, WE DON”T HAVE THAT SHIT!…We just work work work and work until we get as close to being satisfied as we can. But as an artist, I truly believe that we never find an end to our projects. We can always find something wrong with it or something that could make it better. SO DON’T fucking tell me that it’s easy to manage my sleep. You’re not in my shoes bitch. Fuck your couch!
