Rapha and Everyday Carry are encouraging all biking bloggers to post a picture of their gear. Or, all of the things each biker deems necessary to carry in their pockets and or backpacks. What you consider your “must haves” with you during your ride. Your survival kit.
A new picture will be featured every day. Along with the rider’s content description and why. Check Raphas pocket blog here
MY BACKPACK
Ogio Mini Backpack: Because it’s small and light, but can carry like a champ. 14 conveniently designed different pockets total. Both inside and out.
Kidrobot/Vinylmation Kee Chains: I use them as zipper pulls. And it just adds some character to my backpack
Custom & Kidrobot Pins: Mostly again, to add character to the bag
15 Wrench: Because a screw has come loose on me once. Caused my chain to fall off and tangle in the tire. That will never happen again as long as I’m carrying this.
Cable Combination Bike Lock: Because the cable wire wraps around a pole/rack about 7 times. It’s hard to break the combination. And if someone wanted to steal my bike. It takes more time to cut the cable and untangle 7 loops, as opposed to just cutting a single cable or padlock. The more time it takes to steal, the least likely they will try. Too much time, not enough escape time.
2 White Chocolate Macadamia Clif Bars: 1 for energy, and number 2 for protein. Since I don’t eat meat, I need a good source of protein. Not to mention that this is the most delicious Clif Bar flavor out.
Fully Laced Shoe Biners: Because they’re shoe shaped key locks! How can you not love that?! They lock my keys on to my pants or any part of my backpack. And they won’t fall off!
My Keys: 1 vintage key that doubles as a bottle opener in disguise. Just cuz whenever people need a bottle opener there never seems to be one around. And I need my keys to get back in my house duh! Also, if I drive my car (with bike inside) to a trail, I need to get back in!
1 Bottle Of Water: Must stay hydrated
My Phone: C’mon now, I need my phone. It would be stupid not to have it on me. I don’t want to get hit by a car and not be able to call 911 if I’m still alive.
Slim Leather Coach Wallett: Slim and carries 4-6 cards and up to 10 crisp bills. Yet still stays almost razor thin.
iShuffle: Because it’s hella small and clips on to my tee. I can’t even feel it. Plus music is part of the experience. Helps me fight the pain in my calfs while going uphill. And instrumentals while cruising make the world that much more smooth and at peace.
