My senior year of high school, in the year of 2005.. I was in a skating accident. Where I tore part of my Achilles tendon and part of my Peroneus Longus tendon. It left me unable to walk for the year of 2005-2006. As a result… I gained about 45 pounds. Weighing in at 198 pounds. My leg was casted or in a brace for the duration of a year. Covered from the bottom of my foot, to mid thigh.
In the summer of 2006… I was free of my brace and I made it a goal to get rid of all the weight I gained from my injury. After learning how to walk somewhat correctly.. I began to jog and train MMA. By mid August of 2006, I lost 38 pounds. Weighing in at 160 pounds. I have kept that weight off through the years with jogging and light upper body workouts. But in 2012… I made it my goal to run my first 10k marathon in San Francisco. To prepare for that, I trained with Insanity. I roughly weighed 166 when I started the program.
On the completion day of Insanity (60 days later) I weighed 146 pounds. The picture on the left is me in the beginning of 2006 at 198 pounds. The picture on the right is me in August of 2012 after completing the Insanity program (while eating clean) and running a marathon, weighing 146 pounds. For a total weight loss of 52 pounds. I am now on my second round of Insanity and documenting it. I hope this inspires you all!
